The Exec

President - Nikki

Nikki

Hello!

I'm Nikki, the president of bandsoc for the next year. It's my job to make sure the society runs smoothly together with the other exec members, and to represent the society to the union. I'm also here to help with any problems/issues or suggestions you may have. I'm always up for a jam or a pint and a chat, or all of the above.

I play guitar (and sometimes bass) in a few bands/projects, of which the most successful has been Hot Magenta. I love live music and am already looking forward to going to see the new bands which will form during this year. Your biggest opportunity to impress will be the bandsoc BOTB, which this year will feature in the new union build. So pick up your intrument(s), grab some mates, and go for it!

Vice President & Equal Opps - Yanik

Yanik

Hey dudes, I'm Yanik!!!!! Ok, it's not THAT exciting, but still... I'm your Vice-President and Equal Opportunities Officer. In English, that means I take responsibility for helping Nikki out/covering his arse, wherever he may need, and I pitch in with the rest of the exec; an odd-job man if you will. The equal-opps part, whilst making my title ridiculously long, is also mega-important. If you ever have any issues relating to being unfairly or badly treated, I'm your first port of call. USE ME dammit!!!

In real life, I play lead guitar for Lifeline. I'm waaay into my classic rock, but I love blues and funk too, and I occasionally dabble in jazz. I'm an engineer by trade, so that usually means I'll be in bed in Leamington when there are lectures to be enjoyed. I'm very friendly, helpful, blah blah..., so if you want/need something, don't be afraid to ask. See you around, x.

P.S. I'm so committed to Bandsoc, I've literally spilled blood for us. Now that's hardcore.

Secretary - Sam

Sam

Hey, I'm Sam, and I'm the secretary for bandsoc. My job is to handle all the day to day admin of the society, including the many many emails...it's a fun job, but hey, someone's got to do it! Incidentally, if you have any inquiries just drop us a line and we'll be happy to help. I also help sorting out events and making sure they go to plan along with my fellow exec members.

When I'm not ranting on the forum I'll be finding other ways to shirk doing actual university stuff, generally with the assistance of beer. I play bass and guitar (though not at the same time) and am the guitarist for the band of mixed reputations *ahem* Words are Weapons. I love most kinds of hardcore and heavy music, so bring the noise!

Treasurer - Joey

Joey

Hello there!

I'm Joey and I will be treasurer for the next year. This means I handle all the money and stuff to do with money. Quite surprised I was allowed to do this after being convicted for embezzlement.

Other than that I play drums in a couple of bands and do psychology. Whoop.

Publicity - Dan

Dan

Hey i'm Dan, and i'm going to be the publicity officier for the next year. What that entails is... well, i haven't quite figured it out yet, but i'm working on it as i go along. Basically you'll find me making all the posters and flyers to all the bandsoc events in the coming year, and will continue the never-ending war against the ever elusive poster man.

When i'm not working away for bandsoc you'll probably find me in the Grid doing the all-nighter for whatever deadline i have at that time, or getting awesomely drunk around campus or leamington. I'm a third year Accounting and Finance student, but don't let that fool you, i hate numbers.

I play bass for the up and coming band Lead Resonance, and am generally hungover.

Social Secretary - Fran

Fran

Hello everyone, I'm Fran! I may seem either drunk or stoned when you meet me, but rest assured I am just clinically insane. I am pretty much T total which is probably best or else I would probably ACTUALLY need help.

I shall be organising some super duper socials for you all, such as trips to the union night 'Crash', lots of picnics/ meals, trips to see some cool bands and artists in Birmingham and such like...and also helping to organise some of Bandsoc's very own band nights, all of which went down pretty well last term.

What else? Erm...I am going into my final year of Theatre and Performance Studies (I am not a pretentious wanker). I am very friendly and chilled out, so come and chat to me if you have any questions etc.

I was the singer in the band Hot Magenta and am now dabbling in some other projects, including a acoustic/soul three piece and some solo recordings in Lahndan.

Get involved with Bandsoc, she is noice creature.

Bye!!!!xxx
